Competition heats up this week at UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters

The City of Mission Viejo is gearing up for the UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters that kicks off Wednesday, November 2 at the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion.

The top 36 wheelchair tennis players on the planet are set to compete in matches that take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Aside from exhilarating tennis, fans will enjoy different themes each day including Wine Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, Friday Night Lights, Family Day Saturday and Super Sunday Finals.  Saturday’s Family Fun Day is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and includes activities for kids, a bounce house, face painting and free popcorn and cookies while supplies last. Family Fun Day also features a Babolat Tennis Clinic from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for locals, wheelchair players and able-bodied players alike.

Families, groups and individuals are invited to enjoy the UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters at 27474 Casta Del Sol.  Other than the U.S. Open in Flushing Meadow, N.Y. – a Grand Slam event – there is no bigger wheelchair tournament in the country, and Mission Viejo is the only U.S. city to ever host this event.
